It's a brilliant book about social historiography and political upheavel relating to fascism and its derogatory aspects uppon mass...mass also is a benefactor of having a mind of fascist ideology as it's born from the underbelly of the society...thanks to Amazon and the seller for the genuine product I had asked for...A Must Read who can think...not for the dull headed bollocks

This book written originally in the 1930s is as relevant today as it was then. In these days of an increased yearning for authoritarian leaders round the world, this book would be a valuable reading for thoughtful people.

I can’t recommend this amazing book more…
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 April 2014Verified Purchase
I could of course reiterate the synopsis on the back of the book but I prefer to peek the potential reader’s interest by positing the following: If you want to know why women have been suppressed for millennia or understand the “irrational” oppression of homosexuals over the last 3,000 years, then you need to read Wilhelm Reich’s “The Mass Psychology Of Fascism. For then you will know that the suppression of natural sexuality is inherent to the patriarchal and authoritarian organization of family and state which has a vested and imperial interest in such suppression. This is what his theory of Sex-Economy proposes.
Reich has made a brilliant discovery in the connection between sex-economic suppression and the creation of a political reaction vital to the continued control of mass populations. As demonstrated by its rise during the 20th Century, the fascism of the masses arises directly from the state controlled ignorance of natural sexuality.
Though originally published in 1969, this work ties in with other more contemporary research into the origin of this suppression. Joseph P. Farrell in “Yahweh The Two-Faced God,” for example, demonstrates the rise of Yahwism took place circa 1,500 B.C at the time of of the biblical Moses and the historical Akhenaton [known as the Criminal and Heretic] who introduced to Nile dwellers monotheism as a state policy. The texts of these counterrevolutionaries imposed, and still imposes, sex negation in the interests of the patriarchal domination of the masses.
State mystification of sex is thoroughly blown away by the clarity of Reich’s thesis and ideas which are outstandingly liberating and an edifying lesson on the individual psychological underpinnings of European fascism.
Half way through this masterpiece, Reich asks: “Why is it that women and adolescents are always far more willing to listen to political reaction?” His sex-economic theory response: “No other field exposes so clearly the social function of sexual suppression, the intimate connection between sexual repression and political reactionary views.
Needed now more than ever, I can’t recommend this amazing book more…

Very interesting subject and writing style. The essay is discursive, accessible but also cleverly written and hugely informative. An outstanding work.

Reviewed in Japan on 23 August 2005Verified Purchase
