This car is surprisingly fast for its 1:24 scale (about as big as your hand including your fingers). It has the pistol grip controller and handles pretty nicely, but does not drive on rocky asphalt very well because it is so low to the ground. Another thing that should be mentioned is that is will skid all over the place on a hardwood or tile floor. If you are hoping to use this indoors, look somewhere else.
The range is also quite far for the scale (I've taken it a bit past 30ft. with no problems at all).
Also, the battery life is very good on this car. I can go for more than twice as long with this Volkswagen than on a 1:14 scale Porsche gt3 of about the same price and quality. Something I found odd, however, was that the remote does not have an on/off switch. Nonetheless, I have played with this car for about 2 hrs. Total and have not run out of battery yet on the car nor the remote.
Now, keep in mind that this is not $100.00 professional hobby grade r/c car, so it will not do everything a Traxxas vehicle will. However, this little machine has exceeded my low expectations and has impressed me quite a bit, acknowledging the fact that it was purchased for less than $40.00.
Overall, I would recommend this car to anyone looking for an inexpensive gift for a child under the age of 10. Anyone searching for a more reliable car should keep looking, as this car will (sadly) not even traverse packed dirt.
They probably tried to play off the popularity of 1/24 scale models
But, it's not
More like 1/22 scale, or maybe 1/20
Will fully measure in a while.
Steering is either left or right
Almost impossible to steer that way
power is well, it's $25
Love the look
That I would give it Five Stars on.
But, wrong scale
