Only MSI provides (consumer grade) laptops with RAM expansion capability upto 64GB. Normally, its possible with workstations only.
Build Quality - I will say OK. Not for very rough use. Mostly plastic. Top surface brushed aluminum is for only aesthetics, I think. Screen / keyboard flex is on the lower side.
Design - Only one thing is pretty bizarre. Both front exhaust vents are covered by the screen as you open it, thus rendering their usability almost null. Side vents are also small.
Screen - Loved the screen! Not sure about color accuracy though. Enough bright / dark.
Keyboard - I'm enjoying it. Key layout is a bit different. Only red backlit. Backlit can be turned off. Brightness can be adjusted. Keys are black with letters marked in red. So you will be mostly keeping backlit on.
Ports - As advertised.
Performance - Again everything is fine but one. Heating! If I run two virtual machines, consuming 7GB of RAM, 35% of cpu, with FAN settings AUTO and Performance settings at HIGH, average CPU temperature is around 80 degree C. You will have to turn ON Cooler Boost mode in the middle (it will run fans at max RPM). Then you will get around 65-70 on an average. Think of external cooling solutions!
Everything else is awesome regarding performance. I can't comment about gaming. I use it mostly for virtualization.
All in all, it is a machine with good specs, avg build quality with normal heating issues.
PS: It's charger is 150W at 7.7A. It may cause issues in some PGs / Hostels (where they don't allow to use Iron / electric kettle etc).
Edit1: Yesterday my laptop screen got a single vertical line of dead pixels. It was sudden. Disappointed. Will update soon.
Edit2: I visited the service center. It was an outsourced vendor SysNet. Little bit of initial "glitches". But believe my words, they helped a lot! Screen replacement was ordered. It took three days for the screen to arrive. Brand new screen! They called and i went to the service center. It took 1 hr to replace. Then there was exhaustive testing (done by them). Then the sign-off. That particular service center did help a lot (idk about other centers). I was able to track the repair status on MSI website too (some details). All in all, really satisfied with the service.
Note: Heating will not be an issue if you can simply raise the laptop a bit from the table (to support air circulation). Sometimes i use a small fan (:P) , if it is really hot weather.
All in all, after an year of use, it's a laptop worth buying. Heating is normal for an i7 processor and the given GPU. Keyboard feel is good for me (some prefer hard keys, some soft). Can't comment much on touched because i use external mouse. Upgraded RAM and added HDD. Speakers have good range and nice output.
