Update April 2019:
The second one also started to give out the same problem. This time I received a replacement when I RMA the keyboard. Been few months now and fortunately, this one is working properly. This is the third one and honestly, very disappointed with the long term quality of the product. Reducing the rating from 5 to 3.
Update May 2018:
After a couple of months, it started giving problems. Most of the keys were not registering and at times they were double pressing. Raised RMA and got a refund although they took a month to give me back my money. But since I fell in love with the keyboard I bought it again. If it fails again I will go for some other brand.
Jan 2018:
I bought this for my new gaming rig and before that, I had always used a membrane keyboard. This is my first mechanical keyboard and the typing experience is really awesome even though this is meant to be a gaming keyboard. I bought this for 6K from another platform when it was being sold at 7.5K here at Amazon. Though prices seem to have dropped at the time of writing this review.
Pros:
+ The build quality feels excellent. The keyboard is heavy and does not flex. The top layer is brushed aluminium which feels and looks premium. The keyboard is slim and compact which is great for gaming. The cables are braided and have adequate length.
+ I have not tried out other switches like Cherry MX so I don't know how these Romer G key switches compare, but most of the people say its closer to Cherry MX Brown. Which is why I went for this keyboard because I wanted a balanced experience of both typing and gaming.
+ The red LEDs looks really great. Fits perfectly with my black and red build.
+ The keyboard has raised feet and they are vertical facing which is awesome as this makes the keyboard stay perfectly fixed in its position. I find the keyboard unusable without them as I tend to press the bottom keys and space bar by accident.
+ The keyboard comes with some swappable gaming keys and a keycap puller which comes in handy while cleaning.
+ The Logitech Gaming software is amazing. You can change the key binds of any key on the keyboard. You change the LED brightness as well.
+ The Game mode function key is nice. You can configure it to disable some of the keys like Windows key so that you accidentally do not interrupt your intense gaming sessions.
Cons:
- It uses USB 2.0 even for the pass-through. Would have been awesome if it used USB 3.0. Although I would love Type-C everything.
- I have faced key chatter and bounce issues after a couple of months. Upon contacting Logitech Support disabling USB Selective Suspend from the Power Options for all Power Profiles fixes the problem. But would have been better if the drives can be improved to avoid this from happening in the first place.
- No Numlock LED. I have no idea why this is done even when there is ample space available. Does provide an OSD notification but need the Gaming Software installed.
- No LED sleep timer which would have been useful and is available for my G402.
- No other key effects apart from the breathing effect.
- No Scroll-lock LED which is great, who uses that key anyway. I would rather say replace the key with F13. My suggestion for all keyboards in general.
Overall this is an awesome keyboard. Feels great coming home and playing some games with this beauty.
