Amit Lodha is a decorated IPS officer holding the rank of inspector general. But before he rose the ranks in the service, he was an IIT graduate who was struggling to find his true purpose. In this book, Lodha tells us how he turned his life around and studied for the UPSC exams. He also tells us how he trained to be an officer and had the most memorable beginning to his career, in Bihar. Punctuated with his signature humour and adventure-packed stories on everything from solving a kidnapping to handling a mob, Life in the Uniform gives us a chance to experience an IPS officer's life through his own eyes.

Amit lodha has beautifully wrapped up the second book of his life memoirs, loved both of them completely, I would request amit sir to also write about his failures in policing too.. there may be a few that way, the book becomes more realistic.. rest is a thought process .. also I am expecting a book on his experiences I'm BSF.. again I have a suggestion for a book - like your story many police officers have interesting stories of their own.. you have gained popularity- it would be great to write a series of books " Police stories 1 - 2 - 3' . Their stories and your way of story telling.. I am sure it would be a great success.. I would love to read that ... hope to keep reading ur work further also

Amazing book!
The fast paced narration made it so tough to put it down. Undoubtedly well balanced and humorous.
Definitely recommend it to the fans of drama thriller and those looking forward to experience unadulterated bittersweet journey of a police officer.
LIFE IN THE UNIFORM (REVIEW)
As a reader and an amateur fiction writer, I've always been fascinated by a lot of people and characters I've met. Never has been a non fictional book felt so much intriguing, and amazing as LIFE IN THE UNIFORM by @amitlodha.
The book keeps you thoughtful and laughing at the same time. A perfectly balanced tale of dramatic thrill, humour and of course a lot of hardwork. Of all the underlying lessons you perceive while reading it, 'The harder you work, the luckier you get' is sure to be the most striking, or so as I feel it to be. Most if the plot is built and developed in Bihar, breaking most of the preconceptions people outside of Bihar probably carry along with them all the time, without of course tampering with reality. The first half of the book keeps its readers hooked to it, given its excellent narration. It is about the life of a college student passionate about the civil services and what challenges lie ahead after he is offered a prestigious position in Indian police services. @amitlodha sir brings to you true and unadulterated first hand accounts of what is it like to train at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel national police academy, the bitter training periods and sweet moments of victory and fun.
The second half is equally amazing to read. It puts forward the day to day challenges faced by the officers, the writer seems to enjoy all the cases, nevertheless.
Undoubtedly, it is a wonderful tale of optimism and valour teaching all of us to seek pleasure in every opportunity life has to offer.
As a piece of non fiction, I'd highly recommend it to all my friends who someday aspire to join the civil and police services and also to those who cannot be a part of it but would nonetheless enjoy perceiving the world through a different and logical perspective.

After finishing the book, I am of the opinion that this should have been Mr Lodha’s first, followed by ‘ Bihar Diaries’. It was interesting to read short but riveting stories about the early years of his career, his diverse experiences as SP. The Sheikhpura nabbing is dealt with in vivid detail in ‘Bihar Diaries’. Undoubtedly inspiring for youngsters who envision for themselves a career in Khaki. Mr Lodha’s style of writing is similar to that of his friends, Chetan Bhagat and Amish. The same, easy to read and understand conversational tone. Like their books, I’m sure this book shall also be adapted for celluloid. Through his writings, we know more about his family and how they have been his support all these years. The epilogue of this book is, I hope, the prologue of his ‘third’ book, that will tell us more about his life in the BSF. As compared to the small chapter on ‘Sambhav’ one hopes the third edition will cover in detail the coming into existence of ‘Bharat ke veer’. Lots of power to your excellent memory and your pen!!

Candid portrayal of police work without James Bond antics
Amit Lodha has a sense of humor which is rare trait in Police I know, which makes it easy reading.
The best part of the book is candidly mentioning the lessons learnt after each episode /event, which is very good concept. Great reading
