This adapter uses the BlueCore® CSR8510™ A10 IC.

Ease of Use:
Installation was plug and play on my desktop. Windows 10 automatically installed drivers, and creator's update made setting up Bluetooth devices easier. There is a driver bundled with it that replaces the default windows BT stack with CSR Harmony's. This has connectivity issues with some devices, so I'd recommend using the default windows stack.

Performance:
I tried connecting an Xbox One controller, speakers and my phone all at the same time without any problems. The range covered the entire house through walls, thanks to the class 1 range. Don't expect to connect more than 4 devices, there may be issues.

Cons:
There is a blue light that keeps flashing all the time and can't be turned off. Even flashes after turning off the computer
Bundled driver has compatibility issues.

Verdict:
This works fine without any other issues. There are cheaper Bluetooth 4.0 adapters which may do the job.

I am using this adapter since 4 months. No Problem till now.

Pros:

1. Plug and Play with Windows 10. No need to install the drivers provided in the CD.
2. Connects with any Bluetooth device. Connects smoothly with my Mivi Saxo Wireless Bluetooth Headphones. No Bluetooth Audio Lag while watching online as well as as offline videos. Not also in milliseconds.
3. File Transfer from My smartphone to PC via Bluetooth is also great. Just connect the phone with PC through Bluetooth and transfer any files from phone to PC or vice versa very smoothly.
4. Also connects and pairs very smoothly with my Bluetooth Stereo Adapter Audio Receiver 3.5 mm Music Wireless Hifi Dongle with which I can use my 2.1 sound system via Bluetooth.
5. Overall very smooth pairing with each and every Bluetooth device.
6. Bluetooth Range is Quite Nice.

Cons:

1. None found till Now.

I use Linux exclusively for all my laptops at home. My current laptop, an Asus VivoBook S14 Core i7 8th Gen, while does have an onboard bluetooth adapter, fails to register the same under Ubuntu 18.04. The only option is to use an external adapter via USB.

One problem with most USB adapters, be it wifi or bluetooth or mouse, is the lack of information on Linux support. So you may end up buying a dongle, only to find it not working on Linux. So I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged in this little beauty, and the bluetooth icon immediately popped up on the taskbar. No need for extra drivers or installation processes. It just works, out of the box!

The only concern I have is durability as this is a "cheap" looking device. I hope that it does not burn out as I plan to leave it always connected with my laptop.

Microphone doesn't work

The only thing I need the LB4 adapter is to connect my headset. The headphones work, but the microphone does not. No amount of tweaking helped

The weirdest part is : Leoxsys has their own driver for Windows 10. This is a 400 MB behemoth (it's beyond me why we need a 400 MB download to install a Windows 10 driver for Bluetooth).

With Leoxsys driver, nothing works (Neither headset nor microphone). With Microsoft default driver, only headphones work. Tried with 2 headsets, the result is the same.

As per connectivity, I took time to figure it out as the most effective way. After that it was pretty easy to install this. Usually its plug n play but after installing the drivers it gives the actual access to the Bluetooth connectivity. Does the job. Although the sound clarity isn't quite good but rest other is good. I would recommend to buy especially if you need Bluetooth connectivity and file transfer. The internet connectivity is also good. The best available at this price range. Definitely recommend to buy.

The Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) drivers for this dongle seems to have some conflict with other existing bluetooth drivers, especially if using it on windows 7. So, you need to uninstall the existing driver first. I had to do it by getting into the registry and removing some specific entries, then installing the provided drivers and inserting the adapter on a usb port. Try searching "Windows 7 & Cambridge Silicon Radio Bluetooth CSR8510 A10 not playing" and you will see the detailed solution. It has been working fine for me since then. Hope this helps.
