I bought the Lenovo Ideapad 500 80NT00PAIN on Amazon on 25th July 2016, for Rs. 55500. The specifications include an Intel Core i7-6500U, AMD MESO XT 4GB Graphics, Full HD 15.6 inch screen, 8GB RAM, 1 TB 5400 RPM HDD, and FreeDOS. After 4 weeks of usage, the following points come to mind:

PROS:
1. The keyboard IS BACKLIT. It can be activated with Fn key + Spacebar.
2. The keyboard travel and quality is excellent, as expected from Lenovo, which invests a lot of money in keyboard R&D. It flexes slightly near the centre when typing quickly, but this is expected of a modular design that allows removal and replacement of the keyboard, and doesn't hamper the typing experience, so is not a problem at all. The keyboard is the same design as on all other Lenovo G/ideapad series laptops that I know (G50-70, G50-80, Z51-70,etc) so if you are used to it, this is no different.
3. The quality of the FHD panel is quite good, and movie trailers on YouTube look stunning!
4. The Dolby certified JBL speaker set blasts out good quality sound!
5. The brushed metal aluminium finish seems sturdy.
6. It has a 2MP 3D webcam (depth sensing) and the quality is decent for most applications.

CONS:
1. Battery is not user removable, and removing the HDD requires removal of 8-10 screws of the back panel. Not a big deal, if it is a one-time thing (like replacement of HDD by SSD).
2. Screen flexes when flexed (well, what do you expect). I am saying this because I found a review by a tech blog saying this. But if you are a normal laptop user (like almost everyone in the world) then it shouldn't be a problem. I dont sit and bend my screen trying to break it anyway.
3. Back panel attracts some fingerprints and gives it an oily look (slight issue, not a big deal).

I will add more points as I continue to use this laptop. Hope this is helpful.

I own this IP 500 with gunmetal body. I must say that it is a solid performer when it comes to performance. The 8 GB DDR4 RAM coupled with 7th gen i5 - 7200U delivers enough computing power to run all your day to day applications like net browsing (with nearly 40 tabs open) or watching movies/tv series (with 4 different players running 4 different content) or working on MS office products for all day long or running background apps or
These all may be expected of it, but the most remarkable feature that I came across was its frame rendering capabilities during heavy gaming. As benchmark tests, if your laptop performs well in the gaming department then its a good buy for your average daily requirements and beyond. I was astonished to see how brilliantly Nvidia GeForce 940 4-GB was able to handle my favourite games like FIFA 16, Castlevania, Assasins Creed, GTA, Mafia etc when ran at the maximum settings of 1080p 60 fps. But the more recent ones like Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 ran into some trouble in terms of frame rendering. However, with reduced setting, they too gave me some experience.

My favourite part about this laptop is its screen. The 1080p FHD IPS (GN) panel delivers a vibrant and detailed picture quality to create a wow for the picture-purists. The sound output is decent though, nothing great about it even though they are preloaded with Harman speakers. The backlit keyboard is definitely the one part where you will realise a superior quality fitting which feels more tactile and ergonomic than any other sub 60k laptop or even 70k for that matter. The battery backup is quite good (around 4 hours) considering the way I am able to watch 2 movies back to back plus minor surfing and downloading activity, without having to look out for the power adapter. Speaking of which, the 3.25 amps power adapter is able to replenish the charge from 8% to 100% within 75 minutes.
All in all, I must say that this laptop delivers way more utility for every penny that you are going to pay ranging below INR 60,000.

It did cost me 55390/- INR ordered on 20July.
Pros:
Keyboard backlight
Full HD screen
1-time Accidental protection damage(I confirmed this from Lenovo, also I used it, as my screen got damaged. So yes Lenovo guy would come to your home and fix your damage 1 time.)
Great sound ( JBL with Dolby atmos)
Multitasking, gaming is smooth.
2* USB 3.0 and 1*USB 2.0, and other ports like HDMI, mini HDMI, LAN, CD drive etc.
No heating issue.

Cons:
3D Web camera not so great
Viewing angles are poor(If you see the screen from sides the colours would fade away).
No Anti-Glare feature and screen is fragile.
Fragile screen and the screen body.
For pinch to zoom, camera software, you have to contact Lenovo as there is no CD inside.
DOS operating system, be ready to install OS on your own.
Inbuilt battery, you cannot remove it yourself.
No LED on the laptop's charger.

Amazing product at this price range. Display is clear and processor is fast. Laptop hasn't heated up so far even after running HD videos for long. Design could have been bit better. Apart from that, laptop is simply superb. Core i7 , 6th generation, 1 TB hard disk and full HD screen, What more do you want for daily usage
