Would not recommend this product to anyone, really. I had such high hopes for it, too :-(
In addition, there doesn't seem to be any need for it to be as short as it is -- if it were half an inch deeper it would cover the full depth of the Yoga 2 Pro. Perhaps the other, thicker Yoga models don't stick out as far. It's not a deal breaker, but the case could be really slick if it were a perfect fit.
Finally, I don't understand why there is no fold-over flap. Obviously I knew this when I purchased it, so I'm not marking it down on this point, but I think this case could easily be redesigned to provide full coverage and a better fit. If the Yoga 2 Pro is folded back in tablet mode, the case doesn't feel secure. In the "keyboard behind" standing up position, with the case just on the keyboard half of the computer, it definitely feels like it could slip off unexpectedly. From other reviews, I gather that it's a nice snug fit on the laptops it was really designed for.
Lenovo's description "for Lenovo Yoga Laptops" is a bit misleading if the Yoga in question is the Yoga 2 Pro. It's still usable, and I won't be returning it, but it's definitely not the ideal quick protection solution I had hoped for.
Okay. So, this looks neat. I particularly love the "Lenovo" marking on and the patterns and structure of the case. I noted that some very little parts of the case's edge frayed, which for me is acceptable but for some people might be very disturbing. My point is, this case looks smart from afar, and it's good enough for me because I can't think of any instances where a dude will go up to me and say, "Man, it frays. Ew. Bad case."
Nonetheless, I gave four stars because:
1) I thought the case will also somehow cover the back of the monitor while set in the conventional position. But no. You have to extract the laptop out of the case before you can type using the keyboard.
2) the positions of the holes (which expose important buttons and allow you to charge your laptop while it's in the case) are not exactly accurate. It's not completely off, but you can clearly see that they're not accurately positioned.
3) once safely tucked in the case in "travel" mode, getting the laptop out of the case requires some extra efforts. This is unexpected. And there's nothing on the case that can help you extracting the laptop, not even a handle bar or a crevice which we can use to hold the case by one hand in place while the other hand pulling the laptop. I think this is a major design flaw, and I would give three stars had the delivery not been this fast.
But overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase.
it's way too expensive but there's nothing else so you're stuck. It's rather flimsy and easy to tear up too but you're stuck.
I'm torn here. I'm bitter that it's so cheap and flimsy yet expensive but on the other hand it does exactly what I want it to do and perfectly. You need this and $25 isn't even a tank of gas so I guess you'll get over the fact that the time and materials that went into making it probably are under $2.50 :(
