Storytelling from Another Planet
22 February 2019
When was the last time you read a book that didn't ask for much of your attention but gave you a whole lot in return? While there are infinite stories waiting to be told in this world, there are a dwindling number of storytellers. In my opinion, Manoj Pandey is not just a master storyteller but someone who should be included in the even smaller list of writers who are pushing the art form forward one story at a time. The book consists of short stories, ranging for the mundane to the extraordinary, that are richly written in a terse and lyrical fashion whilst still packing an emotional gut-punch with each word. It's rare to see someone find their unique, personal, authorial voice in their first outing with such aplomb. Each of these stories are written as short bursts of emotion that, when holistically considered, make for a powerful, thought provoking experience. Don't miss it, if you're a lover of stories. And let's face it, who isn't.
