The sampler intrigued me to find how Ana would finally have her happiness with her beloved gaucho, Lucio. The depth of Ana's mental confusion and emotional outbursts are heartrending but every now and again, her sparkling zest for life and memories of her love for Lucas would shine through and lift everyone's spirits. Lucio is an incredible humble, kind and true man.
So where did it go so wrong? The whole baby thing was weird, improbable and plain depressing. It finished far too abruptly with it's unrealistical, stab in the dark, explanations. Author should have spent less time on Ana's ups and downs, and more on a satisfactory ending. All I can say is that poor poor child. Sorry about the spoiler, it's a traumatic experience for both Ana and the baby everyone said was dead.
A beautiful love story ruined by the stupid ending. Surely you can finish a story of pain much better than that.
