I have read this book in both Hindi and English. Somehow I found that the hindi-urdu-translation by Ms. Zakia Zaheer is rather not as simple and comprehensive as I was expecting it to be. Long sentences with complicated vocabulary makes it very difficult. Also, there are many typo-errors, especially with the 'years', which makes the reading even more confusing.
If you want to actually enjoy the history, go for the original version.
The history is very well depicted in the form of a story William is a great storyteller.
It tells the trigger of the sepoy mutiny was not only Enfield cartridges but there were other reasons as well and we didn't know the mutiny later on turned into Jihad. This books poignantly touched the WAR Crimes also.
Author has done unbelievable amount of research and detailing. I could not believe that the so much of minute information about 1700s is recorded and available to reproduce as history. If you love history, this is must read.
