I read the "professional" reviews about the S4 II - and they reviews all pointed to fact that these SOUNDED the same as the original, only had a tangle free and more durable cord. So I ordered them, both for the extra ear tips they come with, and having new headphones. Well I can tell you I'm easily disappointed. They do block out noise, but the bass is gone. I can unplug these and plug the original right in during same song and here the difference. That deep bass is going. Not the same quality. And I'm not sure what difference is, but I've tried all the ear tips and they all slip out of my ear. I didn't have that problem with the originals. What I do to help, is use a bobby pin and clip the cord to my neck collar, allowing some slack, that way the weight of the cord doesn't yank the buds out of my ears when moving. Worked wonders with original. Not so much with these.
I regret buying these.
These headphones have a fantastic range and a quality bass that isn't overbearing or 'distortive '
The only issues with these headphones is that they're very picky with how they go in your ears in order to hear unmuffled sound. They also put a lot of pressure in your canals due to trapped air. If you don't get it right, it could actually be painful. I also can't eat while wearing these because they'll either fall out, or give way too much suction on that pressure
That being said, once you have them just right... It's like spreading homemade butter all through your ear canals. It's beautiful.
Sound quality: The S4 is AMAZING. Clear sound, clear bass, comparable to $100+ headphones, although the highs are a little strong. The S3 is good for listening to speech, but has poor sound quality for music.
Comfort: The S4 has a thin, flexible cord that you can wrap around your ears while exercising, and stays put. The cord on the S3M is stiff, not as flexible, so doesn't stay in your ears as well. Both include different size earbuds, but the S4 is more comfortable.
Durability: The S4 and S4ii is pretty unbreakable. I've owned several, and they've been stepped on, yanked, and still keep working. The S3M is a lot more delicate.
I also like the Sennheiser MM30G In Ear Headset for Samsung Galaxy I haven't owned it long enough to comment on reliability, but the sound quality of the Sennheiser is comparable to the Klipsch S4, actually has more bass.
The one problem with these is they have a (well documented) tendency to stop working. I've owned several pairs, and frequently within 6 months the cord will start to separate at the jack. At first you can hold it in a certain position and it will play through both ears, and eventually it will stop working altogether. Klipsch is great about replacements, and they eventually upgraded me to the R6's (next model up). They seem to have solved this problem with the R6's, and they also reduced the warranty time period from 2 years to one. While I give them credit for great customer service, going a few weeks every few months without decent earbuds becomes irritating.
However, these earbuds are so fantastic that they're worth it.
