The narration is surprisingly sweet and yet heartbreaking.
Bounded in a journal form, the writer puts forth a different and unique kind of story telling. Maintaining the events of past. and present in every chapter without letting the reader go into oblivion or confusion, was praiseworthy.
What amount of courage the author would have taken into writing it, the amount of tears he definitely would have shed, can be felt on the pages.
The letter by M, saddened me and it would take me a bit of time to get over it.
Having read Keeping The Promises, one will often find himself knowingly or unknowingly asking his partner to keep this and that promises.
Not to indulge too much in the story and getting lost for days (as it contains that capability of doing so), I forced my mind into believing that the entire tale was fiction, because the kind of strong emotions and love, the author has described so effortlessly, isn't seen much in day to day life between two person unless they are completely conscious about their own expectations, duties and know the meaning of 'Always'.
An Inspiring story!
When Gajju gets to know about the inevitable tragedy his love of life is facing, he immediately gets to her side and stays till the last moment.
M - as Gajju was asked to call her in the book - wants everyone to be cheerful even after she's gone. She needs to take care of herself but she is the one who takes care of everyone. Always smiling and laughing. The very best thing about her.
Gajju narrates their story to her daily before sleeping that he wrote in the morning, with their other friends. M asks Gajju to keep a promises everyday. Some promises are heart-breaking. Some can't be fulfilled by a normal person. Some are too difficult to keep.
Those scenes are eye moistening. And the narrator's determination for keeping those promises was courageous.
The author has beautifully fabricated his journey and feelings in a short, simple and sweet manner.
Although a book can't be able to describe the pain and emotions he would definitely have been through, the book has undoubtedly conveyed the tenderness the protagonists had in their heart and soul.
I found myself subconsciously asking to my partner to keep this and that promises.
A book about true friendship, passion, love, relationship and a lots of promises.
A compelling and engrossing narration.
A story that you keep near your heart.
Never letting it go.
Letting go or rather bidding farewell to a dear one is not easy. This story tides past such a phase and tells you how love can make you do that in a beautiful way. It teaches you that when things arent in your hands, then gracefully accept it and make the moments memorable and cherish it for a life time!
