Product Description

Caution: Marriage Ahead ...

Yashodhara, a quick-tempered gal from the big city, is hitched to Vijay, a laidback desi boy from a small town in one word, trouble! The young couple must learn to adjust to married life and to each other whether it is Yashodhara s tamper tantrums or Vijay s foot-in-mouth syndrome with a little help from their idiosyncratic staff Zarreena and Vinod, their nutty friend Vivi and, of course, their respective families.

With the unexpected arrival of baby Anoushka a.k.a Peanut, the battles escalate, fueled by their vastly divergent views on raising a child. Will their many differences so endearing at the start of their romance actually turn out to mean that they are just incompatible? Will they ever manage to agree on anything? Or have they just bitten off more than they can chew?

A fresh and honest take on marriage and parenthood, this is a story of self-discovery that will have you laughing out loud and sympathizing wholeheartedly with its quirky and likeable cast of characters.

I must admit this book offers a hilariously honest take on marriage and parenthood, getting us chuckling away at the silly little insignificant moments. And honestly speaking, this book kept giving me bouts of pleasant shock at every regular interval just because I saw portions of my life portrayed with an eerily weird similarity (although not in the exact sequence of course). Stomping the accelerator instead of the brake during the driving class sessions, living in old airport road, Bangalore during the first year of their marriage, moving to Mumbai (which surprisingly enough I would be doing shortly), naming their first born, 'Peanut' because she resembled one during the pregnancy scan sessions (reading this one in particular left me flabbergasted as I thought I was the only soul who found that tiny speck on the scan resembling a peanut. I have even mentioned the peanut story on my blog) but in the end reading it all made me quiver with inexplicable joy, thinking of the eccentric similitude of it all. So there I was grappling with all the above similarities but the book with it's quirkiness was a pure delight to read and an absolute wonder to me. I also had my husband read extracts of it to let him know the sheer incomprehensible coincidence of it all.

Moments of tension and rage in their marriage lasted for a spell but the air was sometimes lightened with the author's witty sarcasm scattered about. With all the soul-searching and soul-pouring account this book offers on the author's life, I personally believe that she can stand a chance of being the Elizabeth Gilbert of India. I definitely have to hand it to her. Those who have entered the scared institution of marriage will surely embrace this one!

A I read it after Sorting Out Sid, so my expectations were high which it could not meet. The author has picked a good theme of after-marriage crisis. There are a few good jokes. Overall a nice read.

It was a delight to come across such fresh writing. This book is a take on newly married couples but could also be relatable to couples who are living together. The story is highly relatable and is filled with funny instances that make you chuckle as you go on. I wouldnt call it a bollywood style book that usually Chetan Bhagat writes, instead it feels very real and it was a surprise to see the author being so honest about herself and her life.
Its a light hearted book that you would like to read when you are stuck at airports or just before bed maybe (like me). I would give it a five stars for the writing and also to promote such great talent ! :)
You go Buntvinder !

Let us celebrate the little joys of life, small confusion and misunderstandings. If one can manage lucid presentation of everyday events, it becomes easily readable book with which one can relate. I liked the Y's sporty acceptance of various developments/events of life, some of which are sweet and some are tangy. Lovely writing.

A good read. But the book goes round & round about one topic. There should be more layers to a story. not just one perspective and single topic. Overall if you are a baby boomer, its a realistic read.
