Using a 800w microwave, add BOILING water to the product (NOT cold as in instructions).
Centre of microwave, full 800w power for 50seconds (NO LONGER!), leave in product for 10-15 secs more
and you'll get the perfect poached egg (IMHO) for eggs benedict :)
Hope it helps!...
Anyway, the poacher is extremely easy to use, the instructions are clear. May need to experiment a bit, but in the end it works well as a unit on its own (tried out other poachers). Excellent for the low effort, and very easy to clean (provided you follow the instructions).
I can't really understand the negative reviews. This thing is pretty foolproof. Make sure you know the wattage of your microwave, and follow the prescribed timings. Do not delay between the two procedures. Most important of all, I believe, is to place the unit centrally on the turntable, so that the egg rotates evenly.
