Packaging: I thought packaging was poor but the product has a very good protective case so that's okay, I guess.
Sound: Sound quality is good. It has a good bass.
Portability: Product is quite portable but I recommend the original plastic casing to carry it around if you are traveling. The wire super tiny or thin. I'm more worried of it being damaged rather than the portability but how much room do they save with such a tiny thin cable I wonder.
Delivery: The item was not delivered to me when I get notified "it is delivered" so, sorry for the bad delivery comment.
The build is a plasticy, with no sign of metal. It seems pretty durable and I'm sure it can take a fall or two with no damage. The earcups swivel and fold in which makes it easy to take around and the padding is pretty soft.
The only problem is with the amount of pressure it applies on my ears — I have a pretty average sized head. This reduces the breathability and long sessions are uncomfortable. It does seem like the headband gets looser as you use it. Although this adds to its already good noise cancellation — it cancels out a lot of background noise on normal volumes.
The headphone jack is long and is straight, which might be annoying if you're using a phone or plugging it into something like the back of your desktop. The microphone is not very impressive, but it does the job.
Overall for this price (I got mine for INR 1.5K) what you're getting is a very decent budge headset that'll last you a good amount of time.
so I ordered both of them on Diwali sale
the jbl for 999/- and sony for 1499/-
1) Build quality
The build quality and cable quality of the sony was better than the jbl one. the cushion of jbl doesn't feel durable while of the sony felt soft yet durable. Also the cable of jbl felt too flimsy and easily breakable while of the sony was rigid. The sony was build with metal ( very heavy on head for long use) and jbl ones are complete plastic build (light on head but clamping force is too much so that it causes pain after 10 mins).
2) The sony ones are for those who really want to listen to the base in compromise of the highs mids vocals and clarity
while the jbl ones are a bit low on bass but you can hear each and every sound of the music even if they are of the smallest frequency.
considering the sound quality I opted for the jbl ones ( I can live with ok ok bass but not with muudy sound quality, I want to hear even the tiniest detail of the music) and returned the sony.
Now It has been 2 mnths of purchase and using them everyday I feel great using them.
the clamping force has reduced now and the cushions also adjusted for my ear shape and now I feel comfortable wearing them even for long hours (I watched a complete web series at once).
Overall worth buying @999 rs. only con I feel is if there would be somewhat more bass than they would be perfect pair of headphones.
Drawbacks-the wire quality is not the best one in the market.... Won't last long if not properly taken care of so durability of the wire is a massive set back
UPDATE: the wire from new piece I got after exchange came out within 3 days and this time it is physical damage and I was not eligible for replacement or even repair. So product life cycle was 4.5 months.
