Please don't compare this one with previous book The Girl On Train _by Hawkins as both are not comparable. Both are extremely well in their own way.
In this psychological thriller author employs a non linear storytelling technique in which the story is told by different characters involving different point of view. This makes the novel intriguing from the first few pages itself and compels you to keep guessing till the last. Hawkins writing is superb. She builds the with strong characters. She succeeds in maintaining thrill and suspence. These are the traits of a good suspence thriller. As a reader, fan of the genre, I loved "Into The Water".
Having said that I feel that the novel needed sort of good editing. Some parts could have been trimmed. But I should also mention that chapters are not very long. So you won't get bored. The multiple point of view from more than 10 characters creates sort of confusion in the begining, but you will eventually get used to it.
To conclude, Into The Water is a very difficult book to review. Some people will love and some will find it hard to digest like its predecessor The Girl on the Train. It is earning mixed review like its predecessor did. For me this was a great read, so I give it full thumbs up.
Amazon this was the worst quality of book I have ever seen, I have bought second hand books which were in much better condition. This was horrible, pages miss alligned , improper binding what not. If you can't give good quality at low cost then don't sell them at all. We buy books so that we can keep it, but if you sell books of this bad qulaity what's the point of we spending money on it.
Nevertheless , Hawkins impressed me again. I guess I'm a sucker for thrillers with a supernatural twist.
