A fresh story, redefining life where hope is the only way to make that Rick sustain in this world. Rick has an artery problem since his childhood, that’s why he one of the observing boys in his school and also at home. He got bored with his life, no excitement and no enjoyments while his other friends enjoy their life ecstasy; but what to do, he has nothing despite a couple of surgeries and medical observation. But sooner he found a hope, when love come into his life, but that doesn’t stand longer, due to his sickness, he also lost his love, but where is a will there is a way, he fights and he now lived a happily life; rest of the story, U have to grab the copies to know more!!!
The only issue I had with the book was the narration style. This simple confusion on the part of the author only leads to a bigger confusion in the mind of a reader. Some paragraph doesn’t need to describe, that took 121 pages, but eventually it completes in 90+ pages.
It’s a fresh story, not Devdas type, love story; protagonist never loses his hope and finally he finds what he wants; that’s what readers need, a happy ending. The Author narration style was awesome and his presentation of scenes and characters are worth respected; while epilogue letter was worth read!!!
A child with heart ailment will not be able to lead a normal life. He won't be able to play with other kids, he won't be able to participate in games, he won't be able to do anything that makes him happy and content. Leading such a life might seem impossible but Rishabh Puri, through his book Inside the heart of hope, tell us about that single ray of hope that can change one's life forever.
Rick's life has never been normal since the diagnosis of his heart ailment. Due to the fear of losing their son to death, Rick's parents never let him live. He had to lose everything- his studies, work, games, friends and even love- to the disease. He reached the verge of giving up on his life. From there, with the help of his best friend Jacob, Rick puts the pieces together and decides to rebuild a life full of dreams and aims. Through the book, Rishabh Puri tells us that it is never late to start afresh if there is determination in your heart.
A clear build up is provided to register Rick's disappointment among readers. At some point, it becomes too dark that the plot becomes sedentary. Thenceforth the plot takes off from the moment Rick decides to rebuild his life. The book is an eye opener about how pointless the materialistic desires can be. Through a seemingly real-life story, author painted different bright and dark colors of life
The book title 'Inside the Heart of Hope' itself holds a sense of hopefulness and gives off a message that no matter what, if you hope and have faith in God, you can fight off all the odds in your life. According to me this title is very unique and I don't think it's been overused in any way; ever used before. I loved the title and I believe no other title could have justified the contents of the book.
Next coming on to the book cover, I felt that the book could have done with a better cover. Yes, the cover is good and also holds some distinctive elements to support the title but it's more "landscapey" for me. I would have preferred a cover that was related to humans because the plot is about humans and not about nature. So, that being said, I didn't feel the book cover was apt for the story. It was too simple and plain for me.
I have nothing to say about the blurb except for the fact that it was short and appropriate; just like how a blurb should be—not giving away too much about the story, creating a little bit of suspense and highlighting the main events of the book. Pretty good job, Author!
The plot revolves around Rick, his sufferance, the ups and downs he has to face in his course of "not so normal life". Rick suffers from a heart condition known as Aortic Valve Stenosis and Hyperlipidemia when he was younger. The Hyperlipidemia led to the generation of this heart condition wherein the valves of the heart become narrower due to the deposition of lipids. So, the heart has to do some extra work to pump the blood and thus stresses the heart. A person suffering from such a condition have to
take extra care so as to not put much pressure on the heart and is thus desisted from running, swimming or walking too fast, anything that would put pressure on the heart. He loses his girlfriend in between frequent visits to the doctor and multiple surgeries. All these turn of events hurts him and this constant suffering of not being able to act like a normal human being destroys his self-confidence and he loses his faith in himself. But everything changes with an unexpected encounter with an air hostess named Lisa. Rick's life doesn't seem gloomy any more.
The narration was in first person and was well-maintained throughout the book. It was good and the story flowed easily. The characters were equally developed and had their own reasoning and time of appearances. The scene connectivity was also good and there were no unnecessary shifting of scenes. The language was very easy and there were no such use of complicated words. I loved the plot build up, it kept advancing with each chapter and didn't stick to one scene. The dialogues were lively and engaging.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it was successful in engaging me. It was gripping and the plotline was equally compelling. Everything was measured and the editing was done properly. Good thing that I didn't spot any errors or else it would have killed my reading mode! The plot isn't really an unique one but the narration and the story-telling was what made this book a good read. This is my second favourite book that I have reviewed after '365 Days'. The only thing which I didn't about this book was the long dialogues at times. Other than that, everything was great!
I'll recommend this book to all. It's has all the particular components that a good book has and I'm sure you'll find it to be a great read too!
