Product description

Review

A simple story of a girl in search of answers, written in a simple language with beautiful prose. The characters have been etched beautifully and each character be it the main protagonist Maya, or the supporting characters like, Ananda, Baba, Amma, Dadi, Dadisa, Veer, Pia, Abhay, Chetan, Leela, the mystic, Bhua and even her mother have significant roles to play in the story. The author has described the scenes beautifully in a lot of detail, and the research put in is very visible. She has even taken us on a tour of Rajasthan in the book and I could visualize myself in Rajasthan moving along with Maya. Some social aspects like female literacy, female equality and camel trade have also been described in the book. --By Arti on 3 December 2017

The Indigo Sun is an enchanting tale set amidst the deserts of Rajasthan where Maya, a young NRI woman is led on a transformative journey by a young boy Ananda; a mystic gypsy woman named Leela; and Veer, a well-respected, socially driven entrepreneur from London. Together, they embark on a colourful odyssey encompassing culture, heritage, simplicity and celebration of life. In this unknown and distant land surrounded by strangers, Maya s past, present, and future come together as do her body, mind and soul. She discovers another meaning of life, forms incredible bonds, meets the man of her dreams, and finally comes face-to-face with her truth the indigo sun, a treasure that lay buried in her heart all along. She is finally home. This book is brilliant work by Roopa where author serves us smooth storyline with relatable and interesting plot. A must read book for indian fiction lovers --By Vedant chaudhary on 3 January 2018

We all have some questions at times. For example what came first the egg or the chicken. Here in the novel too the girl tries to find out answers to some questions. Very beautifully written novel. The characters are very well described in the story. The narrator has used a very common language to relate this book to everyone. --By Amelia on 4 December 2017
