One ideas was to make independence day more democratic, every year the PM should address the nation from different places where freedom fighters fought such as Palace of Jhasi, shivaji's palace.
This book is divided into 3 parts where Sanyal has written small articles in each part.
Part 1: History and culture- Here Sanyal is mentioning some good points and this part deserves 4 star.
Part 2: Urban Economics-Here I was not satisfied with Sanyal's ideas about urban planning. He seemed bit antimodernist. May be the point he was trying to make was not clear to me as a reader. He was repeatative and taking example of Singapore each time and trying to compare with India which I find to be really unwise considering the difference in size and scale. The way he says Chandigarh has failed and new city creation (expansion of city) is not a good idea disappointed me. He suggested educational institutions to be built in city center which I find unrealistic and far from achievable. Here I give him 2 star.
Part 3: Economics - here he is at his best where he points out few things on overall world and Indian economy and future ahead which I find to be correct. Here I give him 4 star.
Overall 3.5 star but here i'm giving 3 star as 3.5 is not possible.
