A look at Two life changing quotes from the book
“LOVE DOES NOT LEAVE PLACE FOR PARAMETERS”. I loved this line from the book so much that I made it my WhatsApp Status. It is true, if somebody really loves you then size, shape and appearance never matters.
DON’T RUN AFTER LOVE, IT WILL COME AFTER YOU. It another line that made an impact.
Don’t miss the book, it is wonderfully written. Believe me, it is a roller coaster ride which is charming, fun and touching at the same time.
Really love this book... For sure I recommend it to all romance lovers...
A recent survey has shown that women spend close to 2/3rd of their adult life on some form of diet or other, and sometimes the societal as well as familial expectations along with brutal peer pressure can make managing your weight a self esteem issue instead of merely being a health one. Having been a long distance runner myself for last 3-4 years I see the desperation among some people (more women than men) to lose weight even at the cost of being unhappy. It is for this group - this book is a must.
The protagonist Roli is likable and feisty and yet she too feels the pressure of 'finding the right guy' which gets often linked to 'lose weight'/'get fairer' kind of advice fm nosy neighbors. In an effort to make a fresh start, Roli moves out of town and begins a new life that leads to new friends and helps her renew some old ones.
Author Shuchi Singh has a light touch and she never lets the proceedings become overtly heavy or preachy. The supporting characters including her sister and best friend and a sympathetic supervisor are all well written. A few pages into the story you find yourself rooting for the heroine and that is a BIG success for the book. Recommended !!
Shuchi's got an endearing sense of style when it comes to writing. Her grasp of humanity and her understanding of the vastness of human stupidity shines through. What I love the most about her books are the characters she weaves outta nowhere! Yet they seem from the real world. In her book "Done With Men", I fell for Dr. Vivian. And now, Kabir! I won't give away a lot. Go, get your own copy and roll through Roli's life as she battles what most of us have battled and continue battling - societal norms of what is correct, good, lean, thin and good-looking.
Shuchi Singh Kalra, famous for her witty novella “Done with Men” comes up with the strong and rather sensitive topic of body shaming and it’s consequences in her second published, “I am big. So what!?” I am glad Shuchi chose to write on this topic. The book revolves around Roli and her dealings with the otherwise stubborn body weight that refuses to reduce even by milligrams.

My favourite one is the "orange aunty" . This aunty has erupted in every phase of my life . I never knew how to handle it ! This book has given me all the courage to hug these "orange aunties" that keep pouring in my life !!
The author has a very different way of writing , which I liked it to the core !!
Can't wait for another book of your shuchi !!
Much love to you !!!
