4.0 out of 5 stars ▶Powerful message threaded in a good story.
By KITABI KEEDA on 6 September 2020
#INSIGHT: Human beings are the only species on this planet with a fully functional mind and thus it is our duty to protect and take care of those creatures who can't speak for themselves. This was the core intent of this book.
The book basically tries to explain and make us understand that in India, a cow is considered sacred and equivalent to mothers because of the selfless love and nourishment she provides to human beings and when she starves to death then it is the most shameful and heinous deed of ours.

#REVIEW: The book 'The Hungry Cow' had a lot to learn. Here the cow was personified and had some very thought provoking dialogues. Whatever was written was beautiful and on point but there was scope for more buildup. The author had a great grasp on the language and writing style. The message that the author wanted to convey was conveyed loud and clear. This story made me realise that a small step taken by human beings can create a huge difference in the lives of animals.

#STRENGTH: First and foremost, the story gives a strong message to the people. The author uses easy words to move the story forward. The dialogues of the cow are heart clenching. The cover page is attractive and justifies the title and story well. The usage of illustrations makes the book more interesting.

#WEAKNESS: The book was really short and thus there was not much to comment. There was a lot of scope to extend the story by making it more detailed. I felt that few more characters could be added.

#TARGET READERS: Anyone and everyone should read this book. Especially the children so that these morals could be inculcated from the very beginning.

#AGE GROUP: 12 and above

#RATING: 4/5
