Product description

First of the three in the Hobbit film series, The Hobbit movie was released in 2012. Starring Martin Freeman and Ian McKellen in leading roles, the series is a movie adaptation of the fantasy novel by the same name written by J. R. R Tolkien. Directed by The Lord Of the Rings fame Peter Jackson, it’s a journey that Bilbo Baggins takes along with thirteen other dwarves, to regain the land that is rightfully theirs.

Content with his quite life in Bag End, Bilbo Baggins lives in peace in his hole, until one day when the wizard, Gandalf the Grey approaches him to join a group of thirteen militant dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield to regain control over the Lonely Mountain from the perilous dragon Smaug.

Embarking on this unknown journey, they first run into trouble with trolls. Escaping from the nocturnal trolls with Gandalf’s help, they discover weapons. They equip themselves with the weapons and head to an elfish stronghold of Rivendell to get some rest. Continuing the journey, they next take shelter in the cave where they are taken prisoners by a group of goblins. Gandalf, of course saves them all as always, but unintentionally leaves behind Bilbo Baggins. It is here, while wandering around to find a way out, he finds the Gollum’s “precious” ring and later Gollum. He uses the ring to flee from the Gollum and other goblins, but this ring decides more than just Bilbo’s fate, it decides the fate of Middle-earth!

One of the highest grossing films that year, this fantasy adventure movie was nominated for three Academy Awards categories and three BAFTA Award categories. Outstanding acting by Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey along with remarkable sound effects and impressive usage of CGI makes the movie a must-watch!
