Ok! So I am a crazy movie fanatic and with my new addition of a full 3d projector, I needed this one to my collection. So here's the verdict. 3D and the DTS audio is simply mind-blowing!! 3D is rich, has the right depth and is unbelievably clear! Audio is excellent, precise and crisp as well! I had a few gripes though. Here's my wishlist which I hoped for when paying what I paid
1) If you compare this with LOTR trilogy, you got extended versions along with a lot of bonus footage. This one is the theatrical release copy and hence there is no reason why they split the movie across 2 discs. Additionally, the bluray menu is so simple for such an epic collection! That is such a downer :(
2) What was the intent of splitting this movie into 2 discs? Firstly it's such a hassle to get up to change the movie discs. Secondly I don't get the reason: The LOTR(lord of the rings) trilogy was over 3 hrs of movie and hence I could understand why they did what they did... why not put the entire movie on 1 disc? Esp when the Bluray players of today don't come with a multi disc tray. That's a show spoiler as well
3) One thing that is sorely missing in today's day and age are the trailers! People from my era i.e. The DVD Era were used to getting movie trailers added in the DVDs... I don't understand WHY do the blurays these days esp with so many 3D trailers in the market, don't put them on 40-44GB disc!
4) Would have loved additional indian languages put in... It only has English and the 3rd movie - battle of 5 armies has a 5.1 Hindi audio as an option. Avatar had so many indian languages
Gripes aside, i still stand strong onnmy forsr lines i said. I loved the movie but missed the bonus material and wanting more. None the less, amazing disc which is worth every penny if you are a movie connoisseur!
