An extremely well-researched book delving into details of which temples were destroyed and mosques etc built on top of them. A few years ago essentially same was being done by ISIS against other religious minorities.
Primary sources are mostly works of Islamic historians, who penned down these destructions as conquests of Islam over the 'infidel Hindus"
