Overall this printer is pretty good to be used at home. Students and working professionals would find this a perfect match for them.
Good thing about it is wireless, which is very convenient. But being it from HP the expectation was more. So disappointed. Especially it fails miserably in full page border less photo printing department.
Coming to the product itself, it is a WIFI enabled printer which a bunch of functionalities deemed very useful to me.
- wifi connectivity for wireless printing
- internet printing (u can print document from mobile/PC no matter where you are, the document is printed at home)
- ink advantage is good feature to use ink effectively (havent counted the prints tough)
- scanner/copy feature is very good.
- print quality can be adjusted based on your requirement
Its definitely a printer to go if you need wifi/internet connectivity with a bunch of useful features.
I have started refilling cartridges on my own. There are some good vedios available on net on how to refill cartridges.
Also if color cartridge is removed, and if I just want black and white prints, I have to reboot my laptop every time.
If I have to buy printer again, I would definitely go for latest no cartridge, ink bottle type printer, where the cost of printing is a tiny fraction of the current inkjet printer with cartridge.
The printouts are good quality. I still have to try out the photo paper option - all in good time.
I do feel there is scope to improve pricing - ranges on amazon.com from 5200/- to 6300/-. Why not offer it at the lower price all the time ?
Definitely recommend this as a decent printer. Philips should improve the instruction manual , rather supply one . The current one page leaflet is inadequate.
Amazon shipped via India Post, and it took a whole week, which is normally 2 or 3 days. But no complaints.
Easy setup (yeah, password entry is mess, but with available keys, it is still okay). No problems in mobile and laptop detecting printer.
Butter smooth. Printing is very easy from Android and Windows.
Double sided printing is best option.
Printed color photo on normal page, looks quite okay.
Not tried yet.
Works from Windows and Android.
For Android needs HP All-in-One remote application, scanning preview etc. are really good options.
Scanned files can be directly stored as PDF on device (multiple page option is also available).
HP utilities are nice, all printer information e.g. ink level etc. can be seen.
Not so good points:
While printing from Windows, HP software shows some window stating 'collect reward'. And this blocks the printing!!! Why?
Can not directly store to USB pendrive and/or network destination (at least I could not manage).
No Linux support :(
But, yeah, drivers are readily available in Ubuntu.
