Short life, worked only for 13 months. Warranty terms not being honoured

The monitor worked flawlessly and I was very happy with it, till one fine morning it refused to power up. Though the LED at the rear power connector glows, the front LED and the screen show no signs of life.
Being under warranty, I contacted HP Customer Care. They agreed to replace it within 3 business days. It has been 2 weeks now, and at every follow-up, I am being assured they have ordered a replacement, and it will be delivered. In my latest interaction, I have been told that the service center needs to replace a part and not the entire unit, and they do not have the part in stock yet. Such replies leave me speechless, with the rep. keen on closing the interaction.
I am sure you will understand the frustration of a customer who is suffering for no fault of his and losing productivity. A brand as big as HP has failed in its commitments.
Update: After several rounds of follow-up, I got a replacement monitor with 620 backlight used hours 19 days after reporting the issue.
