Product description

About the Author

In the same tradition of Advaita Vedanta as Sri Ramana Maharshi and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Swami Parmanand Giriji Maharaj belongs to the lineage of India's great spiritual teachers. In India, he has been given the title "Yug Purush" which recognizes him as the Saint of this Era. Swami Ji attained Brahma Jnana, Self-realization, in the early 1960's and has spent the last 50 years travelling to cities and rural areas of India, Russia, England, Europe and the United States, to bring his teachings directly to the people. He explains the complex doctrine of Advaita Vedanta in such a simple, logical and interesting way that people from all walks of life take great pleasure in hearing him speak. He also fosters many social projects through his non-profit organization, Akhand Param Dham, bringing education and medical care to thousands of people in remote areas of India, and providing homes for orphans, widows and children. As Swami Ji says, "God comes in so many forms. According to our need, God can change and become that. He can be food for those who are hungry, water for those who are thirsty. And when there is a great need, God becomes Guru and duality ends."
