Instead, the actual history of the partnership and classic instruments such as the Stratocaster is so brief (a few sentences are dedicated to most Fender instruments) and non-detailed the writing resembles the work of a disgruntled middle-school student who used a single newspaper article as their only source.
The post Fender Musical Instruments section of the book is pretty much a promotional product brochure for G&L guitars in which Fullerton attempts to convince the reader why they are superior.
The final section of the book is just low quality pictures of an older couple (Fullerton and his wife) vacationing around areas such as Branson, MO and Nashville, TN as Fullerton waxes how newer generations may be in moral jeopardy by not appreciating old, Hollywood manufactured cowboy types such as Gene Autry or Roy Rogers.
You can gain more historical knowledge for any instrument (certainly amps) spending a few minutes on their respective Wikipedia pages. As far as George’s unique perspective, just ask any retired/elderly person to see their vacation photos and you have that covered.
Good photos and a lot of useful information for both Fender and G & L fans.
For a more in-depth and unbiased history of Fender, read Tony Bacon's book "The Fender Electric Guitar Book".
