I gifted this to my 3-year-old niece and read the whole thing myself (I’m in my 20s), and it’s absolutely wonderful. It’s inspirational and it’s bound to make kids curious to know more. It’s colourful with pictures of all the women so that maintains the interest. This is the best thing to read to little girls if you want to install both kindness and ambition and self-belief in them at a young age. I’d have LOVED to have had this book as a kid. It’s brilliant.
I bought 4 copies of this as gifts based purely on the concept. I was a little concerned the book might not live up to my expectations but it has in fact exceeded them. The stories are succint and easy to read. The artwork is outstanding, and the selection of 'characters' is diverse and inclusive of women from all sections of community. Possibly the most important gifts I have bought. It should be read to young girls and boys alike.
This is my 3rd repeat purchase as I have been gifting these books, 1st to my daughter and then to her friends. Very good read for 7-9 year girls. Not very lengthy read per character, substituted with a sketch, keeps the interest going. My daughter reads 1 per day :) Somewhere such stories do inspire all of us and not just the children.
Though it's a good and inspiring book for all ages,by the design and format of the book I feel it is apt for preteens and adolescents(Including boys).Book quality is very appealing,I'm happy for my purchase.
Simple to read with engaging graphics with one inspiring woman per page. This book is one of a kind where early on we teach kids about many forgotten achievements by woman. Bought this book to read to my niece and nephew and we all enjoyed it :) Though I believe it was more inspiring to me to be introduced to all these woman who fought against great odds to bring about change and make a mark for themselves.
My daughter loves reading it before bed time.. sometime I read it to her too.. her goal now is to finish the book and then fill the last few blank pages with her version of story..she is thinking of a pirate astronaut story.
Bought this for my daughter.Short & crips stories. She loves to listen to it every night and demands for more stories. A nice way to tell children about the various career options..Excellent quality of paper and pictures. Though..I dont think these are good night time stories which can replace the usual kids story book
This is a gift I am giving to my nieces! The stories could be a little more detailed and may be draw out some inspiring anecdotes from the lives of these great women. But in any case better than the fairy tales that we have grown up on. Really interesting gift for young girls 😊
Initially i was a bit upset because the stories about each woman leader does not span more than a page(20 lines). But when i started reading it to my daughter, we fell in love with the books diversity ( scientis, botanist, fighter, politician, queens, dancer just to name a few😊). Defenite buy !! .. single complaint is that there are no woman leaders mentioned except Mary Kom.
