To those who have complained about the bedding "falling apart in the wash" I think the problem may lie in that some of the pieces need to be hand washed (comforter, bumper, and pillow if I remember correctly) and the other pieces are washed in cold. Luckily I have a washer that has a specific "hand wash" cycle... so that isn't a problem. Reading those little tags is worth the effort!
Anyways... I am VERY happy with this adorable set and I cannot wait for my baby to be born so he or she can use it!!!
There are 10 pieces which come in a nice zippered carrying bag.
Hand Embroidery Crib Quilt - Is beautiful and will be fun to use to wrap her in when she's older. Would be great as a wall hanging until then.
Hand Embroidery Crib Bumper - Fits our crib nicely, for safety we're going to wait to use this until she's old enough to move around a little. (We have a Graco Lauren 3-in-1 crib)Graco Lauren Classic Crib, White
Fitted Sheet - Is always nice to have an extra one of these! The fit was nice and snug as well.
Crib Skirt (Dust Ruffle) - I have a feeling our two cats like this more than us because they hide under it constantly.
2 pieces of Window Valances - Not the biggest, but I would guess it would fit the average window.
Diaper Stacker - Since we're going to have her in our room at the beginning this is lovely to have for extra storage. I also agree with another reviewer that suggests putting a piece of cardboard in the bottom for sturdiness, but its not required.
Toy Bag - Love this! Things will be within arms reach and its a great place for the timer we purchased as well. Itzbeen Baby Care Timer, Blue
Baby Pillow - This is rather laughable because it is so small and we're not going to use it for safety reasons. It is darling however. Perhaps it would make a great doll pillow for her toys later.
Baby Bib - I don't know that this will get much use because it is about half the size of a normal bib, but we'll give it a try either way.
I know that some people have complained the set has a lot of loose threads, and I did find about 10 or so when I was checking the set over, but cutting these off is easy to do and there isn't any construction problems with it at all.
Overall I think even with the smaller pieces (bib and pillow) and the loose threads this makes a wonderful choice and worth the 5 star rating.
-The first comforter we received had so many pulled threads that at least 25% of the bamboo design had been pulled out. We exchanged it and the stitching on the second comforter seems to be fine. As a side note, customer service was EXCELLENT! They were very pleasant and quick to respond. I had the new comforter within days.
-The valance is not wide enough to fit across our windows and I don't think our windows are particularly wide, either.
-The bib is a joke (not a big deal).
-The pillow is a joke (also not a big deal).
-The stuffing in the quilt and the bumper is kind of lumpy and I haven't even washed them yet.
My biggest problem right now is the colors that they chose to use for the fabrics. You can't see it in the photos, but there are two different greens. 1. The sage-y microfiber edging on the comforter. 2. A lime-y green color that they use to edge the valances, dust ruffle, and as a backing on the bumper. The problem I am having is that these colors don't coordinate at all. I want to paint the room a sage-y green, but it looks horrible with the lime-y green. Brown seems like the best option, but I don't really want to paint my little girl's room brown.
If you like the design and are OK with replacing the bedding sooner rather than later, go for it! The design is cute and it is inexpensive. If you are more like me and buy for quality and then hang on to things for a long time, you might want to look elsewhere. Unfortunately, these seem to be one of the few panda-themed baby bedding options out there.
