About the Author
A former professional pastry chef turned small food business owner, Jennifer is intimately familiar with the challenges food entrepreneurs face as they start and grow their businesses. Responding to the dearth of food business information, Jennifer founded and runs the popular website, www.smallfoodbiz.com. It provides information, resources, and tools to help artisan food entrepreneurs on their food business journeys. In addition to her culinary degree, Jennifer also holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. She is also the author of Starting a Part-Time Food Business, Food on Wheels, and Handmade.

When I purchased this book I didn't notice the author was the same writer who produced another gem on the same topic, but that was from a completely different angle.
Indeed, while reading this, I was tempted to write the writer of Handmade. I then noticed this is the same writer. I was floored. Ms Lewis has, in Getting Your Specialty Food Product Onto Supermarket Shelves, produced exactly the perfect companion to Handmade: How Eight Everyday People Became Artisan Food Entrepreneurs And Their Recipes For Success.
The four books regarding specialty food products that every aspiring food wholesale producer must read, and keep within easy reach are:
1 - Getting Your Specialty Food Product Onto Store Shelves (Jennifer Lewis)
2 - Gourmet To Go (By Robert Wemischner & Karen Karp)
3 - From Kitchen To Market (Stephen F. Hall), and
4 - Handmade: How Eight Everyday People Became Artisan Food Entrepreneurs And Their Recipes For Success (Jennifer Lewis)
Below, I hope, you will find links to three of my most favored references, to make it easy for readers searching for great food entrepreneur books.
