A poignant story about a mother suffering from cancer, the story is told through the eyes of a daughter who witnesses the changes her mother goes through as she battles a life-threatening disease. What is remarkable about the plot is the constant movement between the past and the present and the way the daughter associates each season to a memory with her mother. Additionally, the illustrations in the book beautifully capture the emotions of the characters as they navigate through the process of understanding the illness.
All in all, 'Get Well Soon, Mamma' is a unique attempt in introducing a topic like terminal illness to a young audience and it seems to do the job very well.
I absolutely loved the book. I wouldn't have thought of a better way to educate children on such a topic as cancer. This book does a beautiful job at that. Can't wait to read it to my girl soon. Looking forward to more such work from you.
This is such an important book, espically to explain termianl illness to kids. I suggest this big time!! Congratulations to the team for picking up such an essentail and challenging topic to write a book on.
