Overall, a good book to start off with but to learn German as a language one would need additional aides.
This book is just going to sit in my bookshelf. I bought it a year ago and didn't find it very interesting.

I have just spent two weeks in Germany and found this very helpful in being able to understand some of the language. This does not pretend to teach you German but helps you to learn the language. There are some very useful tips which helped me avoid referring to 'the mist over the lake'. I was bought, as a Christmas present a few years ago, the Rosetta Stone language course to level 3. I find this book much more helpful and useful.
I will continue to use this book as my German definitely needs improvement and being in Kindle format means I can use it on my Kindle and iPad mini when away from home.

I have been trying to learn German for 3 years and am struggling. But this book seems to be making a break through with me. I would recommend it.
