The quality of the case is, at first, surprisingly poor. The rubber is very thin and does not even cover the clip. It truly is questionable whether or not the rubber would protect the iPod from any real damage.
Upon further consideration, however, I realized that the rubber skin must be very thin, and the reason why is also the biggest drawback of this case. The skin actually prohibits the iPod clip from opening all the way, and thus restricts what you can actually clip your iPod onto. I have had more trouble clipping my iPod onto my short since I bought this product. I also believe that it contributes to the iPod coming loose more frequently (since you never really get a great clip-on). Unfortunately, this is a major issue. The skin is not thick, because then you would not be able to clip iPod onto anything, and despite the fact the skin is as thin as it is, it still restricts the clip-on ability of the iPod.
Overall it's a bit disappointing. I do leave the skin on when I play basketball, since a great deal can happen to the iPod as I play a fast-pace, quick movement game like that, but for everything else, it's fairly worthless.
