The watch is big and clunky. Go for it only if you like big watches.
I love big watches. And I have been in the lookout for a smartwatch which looks like a proper mechanical watch, helps monitor my activity, doesn't intrude too much into my life and has a good battery life not needing to be recharged every day or alternate days. This is very close to what I want.
1. It looks like a proper mechanical watch. The hands are always there and are mildly lit in the dark to show time. Its not all bright and colorful like smart watches but has a sheen about it.
2. It monitors heart rate, steps, different activities like walking, cycling, running etc. You can let it monitor automatically or ask you before starting. The activity monitoring is limited. I dont see gym workout monitoring. And it should not be used during swimming.
3. It can vibrate for notifications, and what notifications it needs to send to the watch are highly customizable on the mobile app. You can read the full messages on the watch. It can vibrate if you receive a call and take or disconnect a call. If you do not want any of the notifications, you can stop them. That increases the battery life and also the watch intrudes in your life less.
4. The battery is much better than normal smart watches. With notifications it gave me 9 days and without them 12 days. All this time I had the heart monitoring and activity monitoring on.
5. I like the idea of using e-ink which allows the screen to rewrite itself while saving battery.
This watch is not for everyone. Its big and heavy. It has limited functionalities and does only a part of the things a smart watch does. But if you are looking for a smartwatch which looks like an analog watch and does some health monitoring and doesnt intrude with life too much, then go for it. I would love to see a similar watch some day which doesnt need to be taken off, even for charging (this one needs to during shower and swimming and charging), maybe something that charges via body heat, or body movement or through solar.
