First off I love in a downtown loft, lots of noises sure but I wanted to muffle the sounds emanating from my room. I play alot of music and watch TV.
Sweet and to the point all the panels look great, they do retain alot of water when you soak them so wring them out good. I air dried mine by just propping them along the walls with the ceiling fan on high while I'm at work. I had to wring them twice each because these bad boys are sponges.
When shopping for panels 2 inches are best unless you're a particular sound professional. I once got a bundle of 1 inch a long time ago and regretted it. I'm just using this for sound dampening so will space them an inch apart from eachother along the walls. If you want better sound dampening you could put them together but should buy a larger quantity for coverage.
Personal opinion there is no such thing as sound proofing your personal space unless you want to reconstruct your home. But this stuff helps eliminate echo and sort of lowers your noise level emanating from your space. Fantastic buy and ill be getting more.
