The most stark feature about this book is the fact that it most certainly seems to be "written-in-a-hurry."
The "feel" is not that of a "book" but of a lecture that was being written-down as it was being spoken. The sentence construction and the presentation / format leaves a lot to be desired.
The author ends up making one feel this to be a very laborious, tiresome subject and could definitely do with a lot of help from a good team of proof readers and those that could set this into more of a teaching form than from its present lecture-condensed-notes, bullet-point format if the aim of this book is to teach rather than cram up before an exam.
