- Reviewed in India on 8 May 2016Verified PurchaseIt is an excellent book. You would love it, the English translation of the great Epic. Its joy to read the book. And it comes at such a low price. The Murty Classical Library is doing a great service by bringing such gems within the reach of common man who can not read in the original script/language. Don't go by the motivated reviews. Just grab it.
- Reviewed in India on 27 October 2019Verified PurchaseGreat scholarly translation!
- Reviewed in India on 16 May 2016Wonderful translation. I wish the reviewers who have rated this low simply because of Sheldon Pollock would rate it based on the work.
- Reviewed in India on 16 March 2016This is totally western perspective about Bhagavan Ram's life.
Indian do not see Bhagavan Ram as it is portraid in this book.
Dont buy this if you want to see or read Ramayan or Lord Ram in total.
