It is useful against knife and Sharp object and provides good safety. When one insert hands inside the glove it takes the shape of hands which is quite unique. It also has small loops on the sides to tie and store them efficiently. I personally use them for barbecue. For washing I recommend to use machine cold wash with any ordinary powder.
