Well here are the pros and cons comparing to the old echo.
It has video capabilities. So of course it adds a lot of more abilities compared to the old echo. Touch screen is nice. So is the voice recognition. Much more sensitive compared to the older echo.
On the other side voice quality is no where comparable with the old echo. Misses the base and the elegance in the voice. Feels like all artists is having fever and closed nose. The unit as such is facing a little upwards. Could have been better if angle of camera could be adjusted, as in the default setup it's very difficult to get images of the room as camera is also tilted upwards along with the unit. So if you want to keep an eye on the room or kids whatever it may be you have to adjust and balance the placement of the whole unit with something. More over you have to find something low enough to allow a good view. The screen gets heated up like the normal TV screens after some time.
Frankly at this price it could have been better equipped to give a sound quality atleast equivalent to old echo.

Pros:
1) The audio quality is so good. I am watching movies on amazon prime and videos on youtube and I have to say, it is incredible. For a small 5.5inch displayed amazon echo device, I found this great and superior to amazon echo dot.
2) Amazon Echo Show 5 makes the best bedside clock. Unlike echo 10.1 which used to show the clock at a corner, this shows the clock with a fullscreen display.
3) I really love the sunrise effect on this device. The screen starts blooming just 15 mins prior to my alarm goes off. The light on the screen catches me off-guard and I wake up gently when the alarm starts ringing.
4) I cannot express how amazing it is to control your cameras and the smart TV in your room with Amazon Echo Show 5. Everything is just so easy nowadays. Amazon’s smart home control is a game-changer.
Cons:
1) Amazon could have pushed further with the camera quality. I feel the camera being 1MP is too low.
Overall, I am very satisfied with echo show 5. Trust me, Alexa has made my life easier. I would highly recommend this product and the price at which it comes is a back for the buck.

I feel Amazon Echo Show 5 is just like the amazon echo with a whole lot of new features. It’s amazing to see how Amazon steps ahead in the world of modern technology and brought us the voice assistant ‘Alexa’. Truly speaking, my life has never been easier until I found Alexa by my side. I am impressed by the way how the echo show 5 works. But all things have their flaws as well.
