The story is good and well structured , the plot is tight and progresses well , though at places I feel story slacks a bit but picks pace as it progresses . The suspense is maintained well and a decent build up is provided for the next books .
The characters are well made and does have strong back stories - this is thoughtful of the author . I have read books where there is a strong and invincible protagonist doing everything but in this book we see team work and tasks being performed by individuals and dilemmas faced while making decisions .
The integration of fiction with facts is innovative and the author seem to have done quite a good amount of research - the space journey and the alien environment is described in good detail .
I am yet to read the second book but feel this series has some promise and can be adapted into a good movie provided some good production house takes it up and spends some decent budget with good VFX.
I've never really been a science fiction fan but this book by Kumar changed my whole point of view toward the genre. I rather enjoyed reading the book and am tremendously happy for having come across it. In the beginning, sadly, it was a little boring. But after a certain point, it is simply hard to put the book down—even for someone like me who doesn't read Science Fiction.
What I loved the most about the book was its easy-to-read writing style. I rather enjoyed this about the book and found that the vocabulary used was also nice and easily understood. Not only that, but the whole plot-line is also very interesting. It is all about something that started so many years ago when one of India's satellite was sent in space and then discovered by an alien species.
I loved the strong character of Anara. Sadly, that was probably the only strong character throughout. But I feel like the story has just begun and there will be a lot of fun in the coming books.
The thing that makes the book really special is the fact that it is about an Indian science fiction (if only it turns into a reality) and that is something that isn't observed considering how most of the Indian writers are interested in talking about romance. So, in that way, it is a nice change in the scenario and I enjoyed reading it.
