For an accessory that is just a rubber sleeve for a $15-$30 headphone, this product IS overpriced. Especially as each likely costs less than a dollar to make from scratch in total.
The sound quality, and fit do not improve that substantially by comparison to the price, but with vs without, I greatly prefer using this product! I sleep and work with ear-buds in, so comfort is important.
note: everyone has a unique ear canal and you may not get the same fit as I do.
For me, they were very snug. it eliminated the urge to push them into my ear and readjust them. The sound is nice, and they act as much better sound blockers.
The sleeves are very well fitted for the ear buds, they do not slip or shift. If you have them in your pocket long enough, you will likely want to nudge the holes back over the appropriate speakers.
They remove easily for easy cleaning, but generally come clean easily while left on.
Update: I find I prefer to have these on rather than off. I lost one and later found it and was bothered by the ear piece that didn't have it on. Likewise with multiple Earpods, I would rather choose the pair that have these.
Also these are not cushioning in any way (I wasn't expecting them to be, but some people were asking about that) but rather are just rubber "grips" for your ears.
