For anyone having difficulty getting the suction cup to stick, make sure you clean both the area where you plan to stick the suction cup on the tub or wall and also clean the suction cup itself. I just used a few sprays from an all-purpose cleaner and some water to rinse, and that was done. Second, I'll also say that I was attaching it to very smooth, large tiles (at least 4"x4")on the wall just above the tub.
The only reason I knocked it down to 4 stars was because I wish that both ends of the attaching lead had the carabiner clip on both ends, not just one. On the opposite end from the carabiner is just a solid metal ring, I assume to attach to some kind of disposable rope collar that a professional groomer might use; though I'm not sure. Luckily, the school we got our service dogs from gave us several tie-downs of exactly the same material and length only with carabiner attachments at both ends, so I simply used that instead to attach to the collar. One dog did manage to pull the restraint off the wall, but this was after the 5th or 6th use, and she was panicking at the time (really really hates being bathed, like I said). So it's not perfect, but really what suction cup would be a match for a lean, muscular, 60 lb panicking dog? For all intents and purposes, this works really well. Not as good as having shower doors that close, but this is the second best thing to that as far as I'm concerned.
