Product Description

Digital intelligence—the ability to understand and use the power of information technology—is becoming critical for organizations and managers to thrive in the global marketplace. The digital revolution is impacting almost every industry, functional area and business process, as shown by innovative market entrants such as Uber and Airbnb. Success in the digital economy will require leaders and managers to invest in their own digital intelligence and that of their teams to navigate ongoing transformations. Digital intelligence should form a key component of any organization’s strategy to survive and compete effectively.
Technical skills and knowledge are important in any dynamic and growing economy, but especially in economies like India, where technology provides a way to leapfrog competitors and accelerate growth. In such economies, managing and nurturing digital intelligence is not only key for economic success, but also necessary to achieve sustainable development for millions of consumers and workers at the base of the pyramid.
This remarkable book, by an expert and leading scholar on digital strategy, tells you how to innovate digitally and make your organization future-ready.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 24 August 2012
By Burjuva - Published on Amazon.com

Sunil Mithas is a great researcher. This book is a good attempt from an academic to write on an important practitioner subject. He simplified the research findings of his and other colleagues on IT value and made them accessible to a broader audience. I liked the early parts of the book more. The later chapters lost the early parts' simple exposition a bit. Overall, it fills a void. I would like to see more books on IT management (which can be read by practitioners) from academics.

Easy and quick read. I recommend it.

I would also recommend others to read IT Savvy by Weill and Ross along with the Sunil's book. These two books are very good complements.
5.0 out of 5 stars Delivers insights based on vast research, yet easy to read 9 February 2014
By Ali Tafti - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This book is a pleasure to read. Rather than offering cookie-cutter recipes, this book offers perspectives or frameworks of thinking about how firms leverage information technology to boost performance. The ideas are informed by decades of research findings by premier business scholars, including the author's own research. Yet, the text is clear, concise, and easy to read. I recommend it to anyone looking for insights into the potential ways that information technology can help unleash the potential capabilities of their organizations.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time 19 June 2013
By Salomon Camhi - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
These ideas are just a repetition of other theories put together. No new ideas here. Large text, no new ideas, short book, wouldnt waste the money or time. If you have to buy it, buy the digital version, much cheaper than the soft bound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent syntheses for those on a journey to build digital intelligence 3 October 2016
By Mehul Desai - Published on Amazon.com
Excellent synthesis of how Business and IT leaders should think about assessing and organizing resources as they evolve their businesses to adapt to the digital economy. I frequently interact with senior business and technology executives and while there are differences in every company's approach to digitizing their enterprise, the one common theme that all agree on is the need to rapidly evolve the digital talent and intelligence.
