Good Book At All... 🙂

We all(at least me) struggle to understand the topics of Design and Analysis of Algorithms, but still go for the so called best books of CLRS and Kleinberg etc. End result is zero concept in the subject. Forget all those books and sit and start reading with two books from Oxford Higher Education: one is this book and the other is by Harsh Bhasin. You will definitely become an intermediate level expert in algorithm design. After finishing this, grab a copy of the book by Anany Levitin. After these. if you are still interested for more go for the CLRS, Kleinberg, Goodrich and Skiena. You will definitely become an expert and reap the benefits.

A decent book to clear your university exams..Lots of mistakes in examples given in the book like in greedy algorithm topics. Not recommended if you try for coding competition or product companies..

Let me clear the air about this book.
Of you're buying this book for GATE or other exams then its great but if you are in a mood to practice and learn then please don't buy this book. It doesn't have a SINGLE programming example. The book is full of theories and not useful for practicing algorithms.

Comprehensive coverage of all topics described in the syllabus of Kerala Technological University( KTU).The author has tried his maximum to explain the concepts clearly, we can see that while reading the book.Lots of diagrams tables etc are included so that one can understand concepts clearly. Nobody can give a negative review to this incredible book unless they are deliberately prepared to do so.A must buy for computer science and information technology engineering students.

Awesome book on Design and Analysis of Algorithms.

What a hidden gem! I really enjoyed this text book. The Professor does a great job with all chapters, but I really appreciated the dynamic programming and backtracking treatments included in the book. It's is shame that this book is not well known here in the States, the price is amazing, and information is first class. One suggestion for a next edition would be a sanity check on some of the Mathematical Notation, e.g. Pascals identity for the Binomial Coefficients was in error, some of the series of x(i)..x(k) seemed a little odd. I think the the treatment of Forward and Backward computational procedures could be cleaned up for clarity of composition. Minor tweaks, but well deserved 5 star.
