Part of Denon's Mobile Elite series, the AH-260R in-ear headphones combine our latest technologies with an inline three button remote that can control select iPod and iPhone models, and includes a microphone that lets you record voice memos with select iPod models and answer calls with select iPhone models. With the inline remote, you can control volume level as well as play, pause, forward and back functions. The AH-C260R contains a host of exclusive Denon technologies to deliver optimum sound quality and superior comfort. Denon's acoustic optimizer system provides equal ambient air pressure on both sides of the diaphragm for naturally balanced sound. Our exclusive radial cascade damper system reduces cable transmitted vibration, and the cable features oxygen free copper wire. The earpiece housings are constructed of a hybrid aluminum and resin compound to dramatically reduce resonance improving sound detail and balanced. The large 9 millimeter diaphragms are driven by powerful Neodymium magnets for dynamic sound and high efficiency, extending the battery life of your portable music player or computer. To ensure optimum fit and comfort, the AH-C260R comes with four sets of compliant ear pads that allow the best match for any ear. The ear pads are super soft, and allow maximum isolation from external noise, as well as supreme comfort even with extended listening sessions. The 1.3 meter (4½ feet) cable features equal length (left/right) earpiece cables, along with an adjustable branch point adjustment slider, as well as a cable clip. A compact soft shell carrying case is included.

The case is good for carrying them around and it's pretty hard so that means they won't be getting smushed by books in my bag. The buds themselves have a dark black cool look that's accented by the silver touches. They fit very well and are easy to get off and on. The earbuds are actually angled so that the tips fits directly into the ear canal and the only thing visible is the silver circle. The tips fit well but they feel a bit cheap. The cable is decent, it's hard to find a pair of earbuds that have a cable that can't be abused. There isn't as much noise coming from the cable like I thought there would be.The cable feels fine up until the split for each individual earbud. I worry that a sudden bend wil hurt them, however i guess that's why they come with a case!
As far as sound they do a decent job. The bass very observable. It's very heavy on the low end, sometimes it can be a overwhelming specially on very loud levels. The highs and treble are defined and crisp, however, they are definitely second to the bass and it can be hard to focus on them. By that I mean, that you can definitely hear them, and tell them apart, but the bass overpowers them on songs that have an emphasis on bass. I wouldn't recommend these to someone looking to do any kind of monitoring application. You can take a look at the frequency response of them on headphone.com and see a high response on the low end when compared to the high end. Denon did a good job making the sound clear and designing these I just wished there was a bit more focus on the trebles and highs. BUT FOR 30 BUCKS--hell yeah, good buy.
I tested them with two songs
Sweat--Snoop Dogg (lion, whatever)--The bass in this song is already ridiculous, the earbuds responded well and their bass emphasis is definitely seen here. If i put them on past 75% volume my head started shaking.
More than a feeling--Boston. This is in my opinion one of the best recorded songs of all time--and I don't like Boston but I always do a litmus test of headphones with this song since it's so well recorded. You can the highs clearly and mids too, but it's hard to focus on them sometimes because of the bass.
From my impression I with these I would recommend these to people who like electronic music, soul, jam, and I would say they start getting iffy at Jazz due to the thick bass.
Great Bass. It isn't muddy, it's definite--I would call it thick. Clear highs and mids, but the bass is overpowering sometimes. I really do like these for working out, and just walking around and would recommend them to someone looking for "fun" headphones. These would be a good fit for most people. or someone looking for earbuds to walk around in. I would recommend these to my friends!
