A good introductory book on strategic thinking for readers without a management background. The thinking model I liked, are SWOT analysis, the John Whitmore model, the conflict resolution model, the cognitive dissonance model, the maslow pyramids, the pareto principle & the Black Swan model.

You will come across, a lot of strategies. But you need to be a little careful before adopting any, I mean you need to do a little reaseacr before you chose to adopt one of the strategies.

This is an unconventional book. The author has collected a good number of models. It would have gained perspective if each model is explained with their generic application and then proceed to show an example. The periodic table of models in the appendix is a hugely resourceful collection.

This isn't something that all of us have not read/learnt along the way but it a great reminder of sorts. Helps to restore a bit of balance in your thoughts.

It is very concise, which is something a lot of people would appreciate.

A must read for working and students alike.

Please note this is not a regular self help book. there are diagramatic representation of 50 theories which can help in business and personal level....just diagrammatic representations. it is very effective but depends on person to person. not a regular self help book

Good for the starters and a revision for the experts.
It would have been highly effective book if there were more examples.

Eg- The Prisoner's dilemma method. If it was explained may be with a telecom industry explanation or FMCG industry it would have made a higher impact.
