The jacket has pretty big front and back air vents which can be opened or closed by zippers. All the zippers are of YKK, so no problem with quality. As the jacket is made of Nylon / Polymer, so in very hot summers, it can cause heavy sweating if you are stuck in a jam or red light. But when you start moving, the air flow through the vents, will cool you down.
In winters, with the vents closed and warm liner attached, the jacket will keep you warm even in chilly winter mornings. I had worn it during a trip to the hills, in the winter with the thermal liner attached and only wearing a T-shirt underneath.
Talking about crash protection, it has well padding on the front as well as back with hard CE rated protectors at the shoulders and elbows. It aslo has Cordura 600D material over the elbows and shoulders, which provide ample abrasion resistance.
Coming to waterproofing, the jacket scores high in this area. I had worn this jacket in heavy rains on a highway, with all the vents closed, and not even a single drop of water, entered inside even after hours of rain riding.
You should buy this jacket if you are an avid tourer, and like to tour on tough surfaces (for eg. Leh). If you mostly ride inside your city, then you should buy a mesh riding jacket, rather than this (DSG Evo is a good mesh jacket).
