Looks complicated to use in the start looking at the number of pins but actually its verry simple. It has got I/O pins and hence It can work without any microcontroller. Try the Ai-Thinker mobile app, its simple and useful.
good but i ordered Esp8266 ESP 12 but igot ESP8266 12 Q .it has additional pins at the bottom but is working good .still working on it
